Well, it’s official — Buck Showalter is the Baltimore Orioles’ new manager.
The O’s made the announcement Thursday afternoon. Which is a coink-ee-dink for us, because that morning we just happened to have brought David Simon into our studios to interview legendary Orioles manager Earl Weaver.
Last July, Sports Illustrated wrote a nice profile of Earl Weaver that shows how his managing style was ahead of his time.
