11-23-10: Wall Street Rules

In July, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Wall Street won’t be reformed, though, until federal regulators finish their end of the job.
Back in June, just before the act passed, we asked Michael Greenberger what the chances were of the Dodd-Frank bill preventing another crisis. Greenberger was a federal regulator before he became director of the University of Maryland’s Center for Health and Homeland Security.
“A lot can slip,” he told us, “between passing a bill and getting it implemented.”
Regulators have begun proposing rules, we’ve invited Michael Greenberger back to evaluate the regulatory landscape.
