5-2-12: An End to Direct Payments for Farmers?

It’s time for Congress to reauthorize the five-year farm bill, and a version that just came out of the Senate Agriculture Committee would replace the direct payments that farmers receive from the government with an insurance plan for their crops. We’ll find out what the bill could mean for Maryland farmers, and for the environment.

7-13-11: A Message of Conservation

David Pittenger has been working at the National Aquarium in some capacity since its inception 30 years ago. He’s preparing to hand over the reins to John Racanelli, a veteran of the California aquarium industry, who starts later this month. Before leaving, he takes Sheilah on a tour of the aquarium — and talks about the role aquariums play in terms of conservation.
