2-3-10: The Oyster Question

Should oysters be harvested in the wild, or should they be managed and farmed? Marylanders have wrangled with this question for decades, and, surprisingly, they’ve taken longer to answer it than most other states. Christine Keiner, professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology and author of The Oyster Question, tells Nathan how electoral politics (of all things) influenced the culture of oystering throughout the 20th century.
