3-22-10: Bye Bye Bats?

Maryland’s bats are facing a mysterious foe. Bats up and down the East Coast are being found dead in their hibernacula covered in a white fuzzy fungus. Around this time last year we talked with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources about the fungus making its way into Maryland’s caves. Now during their most recent survey, the DNR has discovered that the fungus is indeed in Maryland. Nathan talks with Dana Limpert, a bat expert with the DNR about the problem now and what can be done about it.
