11-30-10: Christmas with Choral Arts

“Christmas with Choral Arts” has been a Baltimore tradition for a long time. This year, Tom Hall and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society are not only presenting a concert at the Baltimore Basilica, but they’re releasing an album of choral music recorded there: Christmas at America’s First Cathedral.

The record and the concert will feature new works from Dr. Rosephanye Powell and Morgan State University’s Dr. James Lee, III. Today, Tom tells Sheilah about commissioning new works and finding new pleasures among the centuries-old standards of the choral Christmas tradition. The concert is tonight at 7:30 at the Baltimore Basilica. Tickets will not be available at the door, and online tickets are limited–take a peek at the Baltimore Choral Arts Society website for ticket availability.
