Nathan Jurgenson and P.J. Rey: These two sociologists may specialize in social media issues, but they still know how to interact face-to-face.

The free flow of information is an essential element of American democracy. But more and more, it threatens something else highly valued in America: privacy.

The Internet has been the battleground of these two American values for over a decade now, and it seems to be coming to a head with Wikileaks’ release of more than 200,000 sensitive U.S. State Department cables.

Who should control information on the Internet? Should anyone? Does information want to be free? Can information “want” anything? We’ve invited our social media gurus Nathan Jurgenson and P.J. Rey back to the show to talk about how we’re shaping the Internet and how it, in turn, is shaping our culture in new ways everyday.

Check out Nathan’s and P.J.’s writing about Wikileaks and much more at Cyborgology.
