1-5-11: Pro Musica Rara

Pro Musica Rara is a group of classical musicians who specialize in the performance of so-called “early music”–music composed mostly during the baroque and classical periods. For 37 years, they’ve been performing Bach, Handel, Mozart, and many other composers, famous and obscure.
On Sunday at Towson University’s Center for the Arts, tenor Aaron Sheehan will join the ensemble for “Super Bach Sunday.” Tom talks to Aaron and to Pro Musica Rara cellist and musical director Allen Whear about the difficulties in singing Bach and the fun of resurrecting obscure composers like Unico Willem van Wassenaer.
Super Bach Sunday starts at 3:30 at Towson University’s Center for the Arts. Dr. James Anthony will give a pre-concert talk at 2:30.
