Remember the 2000 movie Erin Brockovich? The docu-drama about an activist building a case that chemicals used by a big natural-gas utility in California had polluted the groundwater and caused a high incidence of people to get sick with cancer?

Frederick County is watching a drama of its own unfold.

Mitchell, assistant director of Environmental Health and Food Protection in the Infectious Disease and Environmental Health Administration of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
