4-4-11: The Birds’ New Season

Spring is here, and birds are starting to migrate back to Maryland.

If you want to learn more about them, the Baltimore Bird Club has lots of events throughout April and May. Tomorrow evening at Baltimore’s Cylburn Arboretum, Maryland Ornithology Society president Mark Johnson will be giving a talk.

His lecture will be about the birds of Guatemala and Belize, but he knows a lot about Maryland birds, too. And this spring, he’ll teach a course about the natural history of the Piedmont region at Harford County’s Eden Mill Nature Center.

Today, Dr. Johnson gives Nathan gets a mini-course.

“Birds of Belize and Guatemala” is tomorrow at the Cylburn Arboretum’s Greenhouse Classroom. Socializing and snacks at 7 p.m., show at 7:15. More information at the Cylburn website.
