4-5-11: It’s Getting Dark In Here

April 5, 2011 at 8:00 am Leave a comment

The internationally acclaimed novelist Madison Smartt Bell, who lives here in Baltimore, has a new novel which is being released today.  It’s called The Color of Night, and it’s so dark and unsettling, it took some convincing to get it published — despite it being Mr. Bell’s sixteenth book.

The story draws on violent historic events like the Manson murders and the September 11th terrorist attacks to explore the pervasiveness of violence in contemporary America.

You can meet Madison Smartt Bell and hear him read from his new novel on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 at Atomic Books in Baltimore, and again on Wednesday, April 27th at the Johns Hopkins University Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Charles Village.
