The novelist and poet Jaimy Gordon grew up in Baltimore.  She’s on the faculty of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and she also teaches in the Prague Summer Program for Writers.

She’s written four novels, the latest of which won the National Book Award.  It’s called Lord of Misrule. It takes place at a small horse racing track in West Virginia, and includes a cast of characters, both human and equine, who are unique, gritty, and compelling.

Jaimy Gordon returns to her hometown Saturday afternoon to appear at the CityLit Festival.
