5-23-11: Poaching in the Free State

Maryland Natural Resources Police have recovered tons of rockfish in illegal nets in recent months. Rockfish, also called striped bass, is the official state fish. Poaching such huge amounts from the public fishery reduces what other fisherman can catch. Today, Sheilah talks to Tom O’Connell, director of the Fisheries Service in the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
