On our show, we’ve featured Baltimore’s homegrown style of dance music, called Baltimore club. But just about 35 miles down I-95, Washington D.C. has its own style: go-go.

Chuck Brown, the “godfather of go-go,” plays at 3pm on Saturday at Roots Fest 2011 in West Baltimore. Today, he tells Tom Hall how he created the music and what it’s like to play it all over the world.

Lots of other great acts between June 22 to June 26–more at the Roots Fest 2011 website.
