7-6-11: Growing Brains

If you know anything about brain cells, you probably know that it takes a long time to grow them back if you happen to lose them. Brain injuries take forever to heal, if, indeed, they heal at all.  And people constantly lose brain cells as they age.

Scientists are just beginning to get a handle on how brain cells are formed in adults, and a new study out of Hopkins sheds new light on the topic showing exactly how brain cells grow. Dr. Hongjun Song, one of the scientists involved in the study, talks with Nathan about his findings.
