In 1620, 16 years before he sent his son Leonard Calvert sailing up the Potomac,Lord Baltimore bought land in Newfoundland. On Maryland Day, we talk to Memorial University of Newfoundland professor emeritus Dr. James Tuck about the Calverts’ Canadian colony of Avalon.
