Petting a dog can make you smile — but do you know why?

Turns out it’s got a lot to do with oxytocin. Maryland author Meg Olmert has looked at the science behind canine affection. She came in all the way from the Eastern Shore to tell Tom about her book, Made for Each Other: The Biology of the Human-Animal Bond.
