Gilbert Sandler is the man known throughout Baltimore as “the great rememberer.”  He’s been telling Baltimore Stories on WYPR, in the Baltimore Sun, and elsewhere for many years.  He’s written a new book that’s an album of stories of Baltimore from World War II.   It’s called Home Front Baltimore: An Album of Stories from World War IIOn Sunday, September 18, Gil Sandler will introduce it to the public at an event at the Baltimore Museum of Industry, which will take place along side a special exhibit of Baltimore war-era artifacts.  He’ll also be at the Baltimore Book Festival on Sunday, September 25, at 3:00.

Here, Tom Hall talks with Gil Sandler about these stories of sacrifice, steel, and support.
