10-17-11: A Few Words from the Speaker

Redistricting, of course, is the focus of the Special Session.  But there’s also expected to be talk about ways to revive the economy—creating jobs, and perhaps, raising taxes. Discussions in the halls of the State House this week could preview new jobs legislation in the spring.

Governor O’Malley has backed away from introducing a state stimulus package in the special session.  But House Speaker Michael Busch, Democrat of Anne Arundel County has said there may be hearings on the idea.

Speaker Busch talks with Sheilah about what may happen regarding the economy over the next few days.
