Even when Laurel Snyder was growing up in Govans, in Baltimore, she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up – someone who write books for children.  And that’s just what she does, now that she’s in her 30s.  Now she lives in Atlanta–but her books still hearken back to Baltimore. Her latest novel is titled  Bigger Than a Breadbox, about a girl whose family moves from Charm City.  She’ll be signing copies of the book at the Children’s Bookstore of Baltimore at noon today–but here she talks about it with Sheilah.

Laurel also has a picture book called Good Night, Laila Tov, which goes on sale later this month. You can also read her blog here, or follow her 140-character turns of phrase on Twitter, @LaurelSnyder.
