The Lyric Opera of Baltimore wraps up its inaugural season this weekend with two performances of Faust, the classic tale of soul-selling and the quest for eternal youth. This production will feature soprano Stefania Dovhan in the role of Marguerite.
Ms. Dovhan is originally from the Ukraine, but trained at the Baltimore School for the Arts, and later at the University of Maryland. She talks with Tom about Faust, and the reception and popularity of opera in both the U. S. and abroad.
There are two performances, tonight and Sunday afternoon at the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric.

The Medical society has a programme called “Opera Docs” We have a scholarly presentation on the topics or medical themes in the Opera and then attend the piano dress at the Lyric. Ms. Dovhan was a delight to hear in the jewel song which she sang full voice. Can’t wait for the performance tonight JWZ
